Jackie has been in her role since January 2020 and is a fully trained and qualified counsellor. She has knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the centre and is on hand to answer any queries, deal with any concerns or just to have a brew and a natter!
All the volunteers have an extensive knowledge of the Centre and they offer a warm, friendly, approachable, and safe environment to help women find solutions to their problems in the hope that they will be able to implement the necessary changes that will hopefully enhance their lives. All volunteers are trained in supportive listening skills and can provide information on many topics.
I have volunteered at the centre for 2 years. It has been a good experience even with the pandemic. It is extremely rewarding and a privilege to share with people.
I have worked at the Women’s Centre for 13 years now. I have also volunteered for the NHS Mental Health Helpline, Cedar House Counselling, The Samaritan’s, and Chorley Advocacy service. I also have 2 years’ experience in counselling training.
Would you like to volunteer for us? Could you offer a couple of hours per week to help women help themselves? We are on the lookout for caring and committed volunteers to join our team! Full training and support will be given!
